Step Into Your Week the Right Way 🚶‍♀️

There’s something pretty special about starting your week with fresh air, friendly faces, and a gentle walk beside the lake.

Every Monday at 5:15pm, our local Sport Central coordinator Monique is hosting a free community walking group, and you’re invited.

This isn’t about speed, fitness levels, or fancy gear. It’s about moving your body in a way that feels good, connecting with others, and soaking up one of the most beautiful walking spots in town.

Where to Meet

We gather at the Butchers Drive Boat Ramp carpark. From there, the group sets off together along the lake track, heading toward Old Cromwell and continuing on toward Alpha Street Playground.

It’s a relaxed, scenic stroll with plenty of chances to chat, enjoy the views, and just breathe.

What to Expect

The group walks for around 30 minutes, but this is your walk, your way.

  • Want a shorter wander? Turn around whenever suits you.

  • Feeling good and want to go further? Keep walking!

  • Prefer a gentle pace? You’ll fit right in.

This group is designed to be welcoming and flexible. All abilities are encouraged to join, whether you’re getting back into movement, bringing a friend for company, or simply looking for a reason to get out of the house.

Why Join a Walking Group?

Because Mondays don’t have to feel like Mondays.

Walking with others is a simple but powerful way to:

  • Boost your mood

  • Reduce stress

  • Build gentle fitness

  • Feel more connected to your community

Plus, having a regular time and place makes it so much easier to show up for yourself.

So pop on some comfy shoes, bring a jacket if it’s cool, and come along. No pressure, no cost, just good company and a beautiful walk to start your week right 💛
